About Vädret.org

Vädret.org is a modern Swedish weather site that gathers weather information from Sweden’s official sources and presents it in a clear, fast interface.

Our data sources

• SMHI Open Data — Class 1/2/3 warnings, fire-risk forecast, water temperatures
• Global weather models — 14-day forecast, UV index, air quality, pollen
• Swedish Museum of Natural History — pollen levels (palynological laboratory)
• Trafikverket Open API — current road conditions
• Naturvårdsverket (Swedish EPA) — air quality (PM, NO₂, O₃)
• RainViewer — rain radar via SMHI data

Technology

Vädret.org is built with vanilla PHP, no framework. File cache + cron warming let pages load in about 1 second even with 5+ external APIs. We use Leaflet with OpenStreetMap tiles for maps and Fontsource for self-hosted web fonts (CLS=0).

Our promise

• Fast — under 1 second load, no blocking third-party scripts.
• Honest — we always show the data source. If a forecast is uncertain, we say so.
• Ad-free — no banners, no popups, no tracking.
• Open sources — we use only official Swedish meteorological data.
