Privacy Policy

Vädret.org respects your privacy. We collect as little data as possible and we never sell data to third parties.

What we don’t collect

• We have no user accounts, no registration, no passwords.
• We don’t follow individual visitors across pages.
• We don’t share data with ad networks.

What we collect

• Anonymous server logs (IP, user-agent, path) for 7 days for troubleshooting.
• No tracking cookies. Only functional cookies: vadret_lang (language choice sv/en) and vadret_loc (your chosen place — set only when you click the location button).

External APIs

When you load a city page, our server fetches data from SMHI and other sources — and these calls come from our server, not your browser. Most external APIs therefore never see your IP address.

Two exceptions: (1) to automatically show the weather for your location, our server sends your IP address to the geolocation service ip-api.com — we cache the result for 24 hours and store your IP only hashed, never in clear text; (2) the rain radar at /radar/ loads tiles directly from the RainViewer CDN, which means RainViewer sees your IP.
